What's the Problem

“If you want to protect your feet, don’t try to cover the whole world with leather; cover your feet with shoes.” Buddha

We often take on the whole world, when focusing on our self would do. It is like going after a flea with a sledge hammer. I think we do so because it is easier to focus on an external issue than an internal problem. There are many historical characters who, instead of dealing directly with a personal problem, wrapped the whole world up in their illness. Hitler, Stalin, and Hussein are among those who come immediately to mind.
On the other side, there are those who internalize external situations; who think that everything that happens is about and because of them. Such folks needlessly blame themselves for circumstances over which they have no control.
When confronted with a problematic situation, it is a good idea to: 1 – Identify the real problem 2- Honestly and carefully determine whose problem it is. Is it my problem? Is it someone else’s problem? Then and only then can the real solution be sought and implemented.
OK? No Problem
